Frequently Asked Questions

  • We encourage interested guests to attend an event first so they can get to know our community and connect with our members. If you’re interested in joining, you can speak with a member of our board at the event to express your interest in membership. Alternatively, you can submit your interest HERE and a board member will reach out to you.

To help maintain a balanced and collaborative network, membership is limited to two members per business category and is subject to board discretion. If there is an opening in your category, we’ll send you an application link. Once your application and membership fees are submitted and approved, you’ll officially be welcomed into WMNS and gain access to all member events, benefits, and opportunities!

  • Membership is $100 annually. To maintain active membership and good standing within WMNS, we ask members to attend at least 50% of our monthly meetings throughout the year.

Because membership spots are limited and reserved by business category, membership fees are non-refundable for members who are unable to meet the attendance requirement.

  • We hold monthly networking meetings on the third Tuesday of every month (except December). Meetings are held at the Escondido Chamber office from 5:30-7:30pm.
We also host Mocha Mixers every first Friday of the month. Locations vary but are typically in Escondido as well.
Lastly, our workshops, wellness events, community and social events are on a month by month basis. We do our best to create a variety of opportunities that will work for all schedules.

You can find our upcoming schedule HERE.

  • Most of our public events are free to attend! We simply ask that you register online ahead of time so we can plan accordingly and have an accurate headcount.

Guests and non-members are welcome to attend up to two events to get a feel for our community before becoming a member and continuing to enjoy member benefits and opportunities.

  • Absolutely! WMNS welcomes women in all stages of life and business, regardless of mom status. While we do occasionally have motherhood-centered conversations and host family-friendly events, our community is built around support, connection, and growth for all women. If that feels like a space you’d enjoy, you’re more than welcome here!

  • It depends on the event. Our networking meetings are reserved for members and guests only, and we ask that young children stay home so attendees can fully engage and connect. We have occasionally made exceptions for teens and young adults who have an interest in business and entrepreneurship.

Our Mocha Mixers and family-friendly social events, however, are designed to welcome kids and families! If you’re ever unsure whether a specific event is child-friendly, feel free to reach out to a board member - we’re always happy to help.

  • No, you do not need to own a business to be part of WMNS. While many of our members are business owners, entrepreneurs, or professionals, we also welcome women who are exploring a business idea, considering entrepreneurship, freelancing, returning to the workforce, or simply looking for a supportive and growth-minded community.

Our goal is to create meaningful connections, encouragement, and opportunities for women in all stages of their personal and professional journeys.

  • In some cases, yes, members may represent two businesses, provided there is not already a member representing either business category. If one of the categories is already represented, we ask that you choose just one business to represent within WMNS.

Because our member directory only allows for one business listing per member, you will still need to choose a primary business to officially represent within the group and directory.

During WMNS-hosted events and networking meetings, we also ask that members focus their promotion and business discussions on their primary represented business only. Outside of official WMNS events, we absolutely encourage members to build relationships, connect one-on-one, and share more about all of their ventures.

This helps keep opportunities fair and balanced for all members while still supporting the many hats women often wear in business.

  • WMNS was created to be a different kind of networking community — one that truly understands the realities of balancing business, motherhood, and life.

We intentionally keep membership costs affordable to create a lower barrier to entry for women in all stages of business. While we do have attendance expectations to help keep members engaged, we also understand that life happens. We’re busy moms, business owners, and women supporting one another through all seasons of life.

What truly sets WMNS apart is our culture. We believe in relationships first and referrals second. Our members genuinely support each other’s businesses, goals, and personal growth without pressure, competition, or drama.

We’re also deeply community-minded, regularly collaborating with local businesses, nonprofits, and community events to create meaningful impact beyond networking alone. WMNS is about building real connections, lasting friendships, and a supportive village of women who want to see each other succeed.
